- Description: ACUA is used to administer user accounts and to enforce access restrictions on Linux systems. ACUA is commonly used on systems with modem pools (ISPs, BBSs, school/business dialups), but it can be used on systems without modem pools. ACUA can help with many system administration tasks: temporarily "freezing" accounts, enforcing time limits on users, automatically deleting accounts, banning specific users temporarily or indefinitely, generating and reporting usage statistics, and much more.

- Description: Autonice is a simple perl-script intended for use on multiuser-systems. The script regularly surveys any cpu-consuming processes on the system, and if any process has been using more than a given amount of cpu-time (ie. half an hour) the process is reniced, and a mail is sent to the user. Autonice is known to run on Red Hat 4.1 and 5.x systems, both Intel and Alpha. As the script is quite simple it should run on any system using a crontab file and the /proc file-system and having Perl installed.

- Description: Nutcracker is a simple, fast, and effective password checking utility for administrators. Using a dictionary file, like '/usr/dict/words', it will crack passwords in '/etc/passwd' or '/etc/shadow' files. Disabled accounts and accounts with no password are detected. Results are printed to a formatted table. A small dictionary file is included; larger dictionary files are available on the nutcracker homepage. Nutcracker is written in Perl and uses your systems crypt() function.
