Another notable feature setting it apart from some other clients, is a special ftp-tunnel which works with "ordinary" ftpds "behind" the sshd.

xgate

  • Version: Stable 0.0.0
  • Byte Size:  43.6 KB (44,648 bytes)
  • License: GPL
  • Revision Date: August 9, 1998
  • Home Page: http://verdict.uthscsa.edu/gram/xgate/index.html
  • Description: xgate is a client/server pair of programs that creates a single TCP connection acting as a gateway between remote X11 clients and your local X11 server. Does this sound confusing? If you need to use X11, but you can only make a one-way connection through a firewall, then xgate is for you. Xgate provides a daemon that runs in your internal network. The remote user makes a connection to xgated, and gets one of the X displays on the daemon machine (say, xgate:1.0). The xgated daemon forwards this display (and can multiplex multiple displays) over the single TCP connection that the remote user made to the xgate daemon. In this way, you can display X11 through firewalls.
